ABOUT TOWN: Nocera’s Changes Name to Chateau

Welcome to "About Town with Mark Snyder," a column that will keep you up to the minute with what's what, who's who and what's going on around town. If you see or hear something we could use here, let us know by sending an e-mail to pmpco@aol.com.

A CHATEAU IS BORN: Joe and Jim Nocera and their families hosted members of the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce Monday night to celebrate the grand re-opening of The Chateau, at the former location on Park Street.

Nocera told the assembled crowd, “In 1986 our family bought this location. We looked at it last year and decided we wanted to freshen it up. We made a commitment and rebranded it as The Chateau. We're thrilled for this re-launch.

"My family has always enjoyed being here. We're from Waltham, but we love the south shore. If there's anything we can do for the community, we will do it.”

After being introduced by Chamber Executive Director Terry Schneider, Joe Nocera then announced a donation to the Athletic Fund.

The Chamber had about 50 members in attendance, with representation from the Town of Stoughton, as well.

In addition to dozens of Chamber members, the Town of Stoughton was also well represented with Faces In the Crowd: Town manager Frank Crimmins, Selectmen John Anzivino, John Anderson and John Stagnone; Buildings and Grounds Interim Supt. Bob Grover, Executive Secretary Reggie Kowalczykowski, and Veteran's Agent Mike Pazyra.

The Stoughton Chateau is one of several Chateau restaurants the family owns in the area (Stoughton, Waltham, Norton, Norwood, Braintree, Westboro, Andover and Burlington).
