ABOUT TOWN: Must Be Football Season! Corvairs Rock! (And More...)

CAR WASH! The Stoughton High Varsity Football team will be hosting a Car Wash on Saturday, August 18.

This will take place at , at the corner of Central and Washington Streets, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cost for the car wash is only a donation of $5.

The Black Knights 6-5 and 3-1 in the Davenport Division, turning in their first winning season since 2006. Stoughton just missed out on a playoff berth.

The football team and coaches would love to see everyone at the car wash on the August 18 supporting the 2012 Black Knights and their quest to bring home a Davenport Division title.

ONLY TWO MORE CONCERTS LEFT!  On Sunday night, The Corvairs played everything from Elvis to the Beatles and had their best performance in years! It was another fun-filled evening thanks to the .

Drummer and co-founder Ilene Corvini led the way, backed by guitarist Phil Brigham, keyboardist, guitarist and vocalist Kent Kreutler, and Louis Leeman on bass (see photos in the media gallery of this article).

Lions Club King Lion Bob Mullen did the introductions. He thanked the sponsors including Stoughton Cultural Council, Stephen Prone and The Prone Family Foundation, Randolph Savings Bank, Steve Kelly and KC Residential & Commercial Real Estate, Stoughton Cooperative Bank, Sheehan Funeral Home, Dr. Betsy Disharoon, Drs. George Mark and Judith Goldstein, Tosca Drive Auto Body, Sam's Getty, and Stoughton Motel.

Next Sunday, the 14th Annual Lions Club Concerts in The Park continue with The Infractions. Concert is from 5-7 p.m. at on Park Street, across the street from the Stoughton Town Library. Bands play in the Charles Large Gazebo. There is NO CHARGE for admission.

Concerts are open to all Stoughton residents. Please bring your own chairs/blankets to sit on. There are no bathroom facilities, so go before you go!

SOME DOGGONE FUN!  The Arbors at Stoughton at 2121 Central Street will host the Second Annual Dog Days of Summer on Saturday, August 11 at 2 p.m. Feel free to bring your well-behaved dog. 

I'm going to bring Harry the Rescue Dog to their Silly Dog Show. 

There will be entertainment, free refreshments, and a bounce house for the kids. Homemade dog biscuits will be sold to benefit the MSPCA.

FIFTY YEARS WENT BY QUICKLY! The Class of 1962 will celebrate their 50th Reunion on October 13, 2012 at the Holiday Inn in Taunton.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY: to Pete Everett, son of the retired Stoughton Public Schools gym teacher of the same name, and brother of aforementioned Heather. Pete is a Senior Psych Tech and Instructor at Vermont State Hospital.
