MEDEIROS TEAM OF HOPE: "My name is Lucy Luis. I’m the captain for my team Medeiros Team of Hope. We have been participating in the American Cancer Society's “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” since 2001. We are five sisters, two of which are breast cancer survivors, joined by our families, dedicated to making a difference in the fight against breast cancer.

"One of my sisters was diagnosed in 1997 at the young age of 35, and the other diagnosed in 2004 at the age of 37. Given how our lives have been touched by breast cancer, our family is motivated to do as much as we can to help other families get through such a difficult and scary time in their lives.

"We are all working together to make strides toward a world with less beast cancer, and need your help to continue making strides."

STOUGHTON'S 8-YEAR-OLD NATIONAL ALL-STARS IN THE FINALS! Stoughton's young all-stars are in the Foxboro Friendship League finals. Here's a note from Vida Gallagher, VP of Summer League baseball for Stoughton Youth Baseball:

The winning streak continues! The Stoughton 8 National team won their semifinal game vs. Walpole 13-5 to clinch a berth in the finals as one of the top two spots out of 32 teams!

They advance to the Foxboro Friendship League Championship against Raynham which takes place on Thursday, August 4th at 5:45 p.m. at Booth Field in Foxboro.

This is akin to being in the AFC Championships. The winner of this game will advance to play the Braintree Friendship League Champion on Saturday at Hollingsworth Field in Braintree which would be like going to the Superbowl! Please pass the word to attend so Stoughton has a strong showing to support the team.
