CHRISTMAS FOR THE VETERANS: The second Christmas Party put on for hospitalized veterans at the Brockton Veterans Administration Hospital by AMVETS District 6, was held last Thursday, Dec. 22, and there were plenty of familiar faces in the crowd.

District 6 is made up of members from the Stoughton and Randolph AMVETS Posts.

Along with serving ice cream, cake and drinks, presents were handed out to all the veterans.

In addition to Christmas parties, District 6 throws ice cream parties at the Brockton VA Hospital twice a month, hosts off-station parties for the patients at the Randolph AMVETS Post, and puts on an annual summer barbecue.

LAST NIGHT OF CHANUKAH: will hold its last Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 6 p.m. on the eighth and final night of Chanukah at the eight-foot high Menorah at Cobb Corner located at the .

This Menorah has become a holiday landmark along with the Menorah across the road. Hosts of people stop by to join the lighting; even harsh weather conditions of wind or snow will not deter the passerby’s from participating.
