ABOUT TOWN: A Murder Mystery at Stoughton's Town Hall

MURDER AT TOWN HALL!  Tickets have just gone on sale for the Support Our Library Association (SOLA) fundraising theatrical production in January, titled "Murder at the Library."

This "Murder at the Library" will actually be held at the Great Hall on the third floor of Town Hall on Friday, January 18 (with a snow date of the January 25.)  The fun starts at 7 p.m.

There is limited seating, so get your tickets early! Tickets are $15 before December 15, and $20 per ticket after that, and at the door (if available). This murder mystery is for those over 21, as beer and wine will be available for purchase. Snacks will also be available.

Realtor Fred Yaitanes of the Fred & Nadine Realtor Team is the Director of the play, which features many familiar faces.

The cast consists of Selectmen Vice Chair Cynthia Walsh as "Agathy Mystery" (who unfortunately comes to an early demise), and then there are the  "suspects" for her murder: 

  • Carlos Vargas of Vargas & Vargas Insurance, and Chairman of the Redevelopment Committee, as "Dell Doubleday"
  • Community Preservation Committee Chairman and Attorney John Morton as "Dalton B. Walden"
  • Stephanie Carrara from the Town Clerk's office is playing "Page Turner"
  • Faye Polillio, principal of the Hansen Elementary School, will be playing J Lo Bennifer
  • Stoughton Police Chief Paul Shastany will play "Sam Slayed"
  • Stoughton Library Director Pat Basler is "Lotta Books"
  • And yours truly, Mark Snyder, Patch About Town Columnist, will be "The Governator"  

Superintendent of Stoughton Schools Dr. Marguerite "Maggie" Rizzi will provide musical accompaniment on bass!  

The SOLA group, a 501C3 nonprofit organization formed in October of 2011, replaced the Friends of Stoughton Public Library as the fundraising arm of the Stoughton Public Library.
