PANCAKES TASTED GOOD--AND RAISED SOME MONEY: The Stoughton Lions Club held their 24th Annual Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, October 16, and several dozen people came by to enjoy the food, and contribute their $7, which benefited the Stoughton Lions Club Charity Fund for local eye research programs.

AUTHOR HANDCUFFS CROWD: Speaking of the Lions Club, , a former Boston Police Officer shared details from his lengthy career in his book, “Badge #1: True Stories From a Boston Cop,” at a Lions Club event last week at that attracted nearly 50 people.

DeSario shared highlights of his nearly forty-year career in the book, and with the crowd, including stories about the Mafia, gangland slayings, the Combat Zone, busing, and race riots.

DeSario also revealed what it was like to have a ringside seat at events that made history, including his tales of Southie gangster Whitey Bulger. He shared the glamorous side of his job that included escorting high profile celebrities, religious leaders and political leaders during their visits to the Boston area.

U-KNIGHTED: Two former quarterbacks, Dan Snyder (SHS 2009) and Willie McNamara (SHS 2010) met once again on the football field on Saturday, October 15 at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth.

McNamara, a wide receiver for UMass Dartmouth, saw his team defeat quarterback Snyder's Nichols Bisons, 21-6.

STOUGHTON GIRL SCOUTS PASTA DINNER: The Stoughton Girl Scouts will have a pasta fundraising dinner on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 5-8 p.m. 

The cost is $8, and includes pasta, meatballs, salad and garlic bread.  It will be held at the Sons of Italy Hall, 560 Washington St. on Rte. 138 in Stoughton.

Proceeds will be used to defray the cost of the girls travel to the Girl Scout 100th Anniversary “Rock the Mall” sing-along in Washington, D.C. This event will bring together more than 200,000 Girl Scouts and Girl Guides from all over the world.
