Stoughton Obituary: Sylvia (Needre) Weeman, 90

Sylvia N. (Needre) Weeman, 90, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home in Stoughton after a short period of failing health. 

She was the wife of 64 years of Walter H. Weeman.

Born in Boston, she was raised in Roslindale and was a graduate of Roslindale Schools and Bryant & Stratton School. 

Mrs. Weeman worked as an Administrative Assistant at Thoracic Associates in Stoughton and prior to that worked at John Hancock in Boston for several years.

She was an active volunteer at the Goddard Hospital and Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton who willingly donated her time for many years. She enjoyed her book club, and in her free time, enjoyed reading, walking, knitting, sewing and was an accomplished seamstress.

Mrs. Weeman is survived by her children Keith P. Weeman and his wife Linda of Norton and Carole Ann Burgess and her husband Thomas of Newburyport. She was the grandmother of Casey Castaneda, Ean Burgess, Alec Weeman and Victoria Weeman and was the sister of the late Walter Needre. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) in Stoughton on Friday, August 23 at 7 p.m. Visiting Hours prior to the prayers from 4-7 p.m.
