Stoughton Obituary: Lillian (Swan) Walsh

Lillian M. (Swan) Walsh, 87, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Braemoor Health Center in Brockton on Thursday, August 15. She was the wife of the late Francis C. Walsh. 

Born in Boston, she was raised in Dorchester and educated in Boston schools. She was a resident of Stoughton for 47 years. 

Mrs. Walsh was a cashier at Shaw's Supermarket in Canton for 14 years before retiring in 1998. She enjoyed her book club, dining out, knitting, crocheting, gardening and doing cryptograms and the Jumble in the Boston Herald.

Mrs. Walsh is survived by her children, Susan M. Hayes and her husband John of Easton, Francis C. Walsh and Kathleen M. Walsh both of Stoughton, as well as her grandchildren, Kathy Hayes and John Hayes, Jr. 

She was the sister of the late Thomas Swan, Mary Barry, Frances McGrath and John Swan. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) in Stoughton on Tuesday, August 20 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, in Stoughton at 10:30 a.m. 

Visiting Hours at the Farley Funeral Home, Monday from 5-8 p.m. 

Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
