The following are obituaries for Stoughton residents or those with Stoughton ties for the week of December 1-8.

Janet (Corcoran) Coe

Janet K. (Corcoran) Coe, 78, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at her son's home in East Bridgewater on Friday, November 30 surrounded by her family.

She was the wife of the late Robert J. Coe. Born and raised in Brookline, she was a graduate of Brookline High School. She was a member of the first graduating class of women from Boston College.

Mrs. Coe was a resident of Stoughton for 43 years. She was a teacher for Stoughton Public Schools for many years before retiring 11 years ago. She was a member of both the Massachusetts and Stoughton Teachers Associations. She was a member of the Boston College Golden Eagle Alumni.

Janet was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. She enjoyed reading and took great joy in educating others.

Mrs. Coe was the mother of Francis X. Coe and his wife Barbara of East Bridgewater; Mary A. Myers and her husband John of West Bridgewater; William L. Coe and his wife Gina of Stoughton; and the late Kathleen "Kitty" Bedrosian.

She was the grandmother of Daniel, Marissa and Ryan Coe, William and Kaitlyn Myers and Bella Coe. She was the sister of Mary Gallagher of PA, Francis Corcoran of Natick, Rev. Lawrence Corcoran, SJ of Weston and the late Joan Linnane. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home in Stoughton on December 6, followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. Interment took place at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton.

Armand L. Baptista

Armand L. Baptista, 84, died unexpectedly Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of the late Anna C. (Rebak) Baptista.

Born in Taunton, he was educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School. He also was a graduate of UMass Lowell.

Mr. Baptista joined the Navy at the end of World War II and transferred to the US Air Force before the Korean War. He retired after 20 years of service from the Air Force in 1969 at the rank of Master Sergeant.

Following his retirement, he worked as a Logistician for ESD in Hanscom for many years, retiring several years ago. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, vacationing, walking, working around his yard and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Capt. Armand L. "Skip" Baptista, Jr. USN (Ret.) and his wife Lynne of VA; Claudia A. Nichols and her husband Derick of NH; and John E. Baptista and his wife Jan of GA. He was the brother of Shirley Catalano of Stoughton and the late Vivien Hughes of NH, and Irene Daversa of Brockton. He was the grandfather of Andrew, Katherine and Nicole Baptista and Scott and Hannah Cleary. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) in Stoughton on Tuesday, December 11 from 5-8 p.m.. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

Agnes (Kadish) Ethier

Agnes (Kadish) Ethier, 99, a longtime resident of Stoughton and Grafton, NH, died on Friday, November 30 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Alfred F. Ethier.

Born and educated in Brockton, she was a graduate of Brockton High School. She resided in Stoughton since 1978. She summered in Grafton, NH in a log cabin that she and her husband had built.

Mrs. Ethier was a Quality Control Inspector at Garland Corporation in Brockton before retiring in 1978. For many years Agnes designed and created period clothing for a doll museum in Whitman. She was a volunteer with the senior citizens in Grafton, NH for more than 20 years, working with Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the National Retired Seniors Volunteer Person Association in New Hampshire. She traveled extensively all over the world.

Mrs. Ethier is survived by her children, Wilfred J. Ethier and his wife Charlotte of Philadelphia, PA; Francis A. Ethier and his wife Marcia of N. Reading; and Jeanne Ethier of Stoughton, as well as her grandchildren, Christine and John Ethier both of Philadelphia, PA; Justin Ethier and his wife Wendy of Catonsville, MD; and Jason Ethier and his wife Zhou of Acton.

She was the loving great-grandmother of Isabella Ethier of Catonsville, MD. She was the daughter of the late John and Petronella Kadish. She was the sister of the late Anne Foster, Josephine Works, Alice Cedergren, Lillian Malbon and Victoria Kadish and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service was held from the Farley Funeral Home in Stoughton on December 5. Interment took place at Melrose Cemetery in Brockton.

Adelina (Soares) Barros

Adelina (Soares) Barros, 96, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home in Stoughton. She was the wife of the late Manuel A. Barros.

Born in Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal, she was raised and educated in Santa Maria. She was a resident of Stoughton since 1976. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mrs. Barros is survived by her daughter, Sofia S. Lopes of Stoughton and her 7 sons; Luis S. Barros, Guilherme S. Barros, Isidro S. Barros, Jose S. Barros and Silvino S. Barros all of Stoughton, Eduardo S. Barros of Portugal and Juliao S. Barros of Canada.

She was predeceased by 1 brother and 3 sisters. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral was held from the Farley Funeral Home in Stoughton on December 7, followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. Interment took place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton.

Roberta Boushell

Roberta K. Boushell (Weir), 93, of Stoughton, formerly of Canton, passed away December 2 at the Copley at Stoughton.

Born and raised in Boston, she graduated from Boston Latin School and worked as a Secretary for Sylvania GTE for many years. She has lived in Canton since 1957 and previously lived in Roslindale. She loved the ocean and enjoyed walking the beach in Naples, Florida.

Beloved wife of the late James L. Boushell and James S. Weir, Sr. Mother of Roberta “Bobbi” Boushell and her husband James of Stoughton; Jeanne Dray and her husband Richard of Stoughton; and the late James S. Weir Jr. Step-mother of Carol Boushell of Lakeville and Joanne Ebert of Marston Mills. Sister of the late Evelyn L. Kretschmar. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral mass was held at the St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton Wednesday morning at 10:30. Arrangements were handled by Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home in Canton. Burial was at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Care Center for the outstanding care they provided for Roberta.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Assn 480 Pleasant Street Watertown, MA 02472.
