John J. "Joe" Mahoney, 92, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2013, at the Southwood at Norwell Nursing Home in Norwell, after a period of failing health. He was the loving husband of 64 years of Beverly A. (Wilding) Mahoney.
Son of the late John J. Mahoney and Frances "Fanny" (Power) Mahoney, he was born and raised in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton Schools and Maltby Business School. Mr. Mahoney was a longtime resident of Stoughton before moving to Leisurewoods in Rockland 25 years ago.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Monday, Jan. 13, at 7:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 8:45 a.m.. Visiting hours will be Sunday, Jan. 12, from 2-5 pm. Internment will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 10:30 a.m.
Because of floral regulations at the cemetery, Joe's family has asked that donations be made to Children's Hospital, 401 Park Dr., Suite 602, Boston, 02215 in honor of the loving care extended to their family throughout the years.
