Obituary: Charles L. Kahler, a Former Machinist at Fore River Shipyard

Charles L. Kahler, 79, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Sunday, Jan. 5. He was the husband of Elaine M. (Grover) Kahler. Born and raised in Brockton, he was a resident of Stoughton since 1978.

Mr. Kahler served in the U.S. Navy and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a machinist at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy for more than 30 years before retiring 20 years ago. Charles was a member of the Baalis Sanford Lodge AF & AM in Brockton. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and bowling.

Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, Jan. 10, at 10:30 a.m.. Visiting Hours will be Thursday, Jan. 9. from 5-8 p.m. Interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery, Canton. Donations in Charles' memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
