Arthur J. Lavas, 82, died at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Milton, Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 after a period of failing health. He worked for the Town of Stoughton Department of Public Works for more than 25 years as a mechanic and retired in 1993 as the head mechanic.
Graveside services will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery, Washington Street (Rte 138) Stoughton on Thursday, Jan. 2, at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours were omitted. Donations in his memory may be made to the Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, 02368.
