The following are recent obituaries for Stoughton.

Pauline (Berger) Pransky


Pauline (Berger) Pransky of Stoughton, formerly of Brookline, died on Sept. 28, 2013.

She was the beloved wife of Irving Pransky, devoted mother of Alan Pransky and his wife Deborah, and Deborah Levine and her husband, Mark and the dear grandmother of Joshua, Scott, Ethan, and Eric.  Mrs. Pransky was the proud great grandmother of Micah, loving sister of Samuel Berger and the late Louis and Philip.

Services will be at Ahavath Torah Congregation, (1179 Central St., Stoughton), on Monday, Sept. 30, at noon.

Following interment at Lindwood Memorial Park (490 North St., Randolph), memorial observance will be at the home of Deborah and Mark Levine until 8 p.m., and will continue Tuesday 2-4  and 6-8 pm.

Shiva will also be observed at the home of Alan and Deborah Pransky, Tuesday-Friday until sundown.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445, or Friends of the IDF, 1430 Broadway, New York, NY 10018.

Mary E. (Corbett) VanBuskirk

Mary E. (Corbett) VanBuskirk, 79, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at her home, under the care of Old Colony Hospice, after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Frank R.VanBuskirk.

Born in Stoughton, she was educated at St. Mary's School and was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1951. Mrs. VanBuskirk was a homemaker.

In her free time, she enjoyed doing crafts, traveling to Foxwoods, shopping and spending time with her family.

She was the mother of Ryan K. VanBuskirk of Stoughton and the late Rowan F.VanBuskirk. She was the sister of Sharon M. Weston of Stoughton and the late James Corbett, Richard Corbett, Nancy Gonsalves and George Corbett. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4-7 p.m.. Interment will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
