Betty McEwan: Longtime Stoughton Resident, Christy's Market Cashier

Betty A. (Christie) (Purcell) McEwan, 82, passed away on Thursday, May 8 after a short illness, according to her obituary. 

Born in Boston, McEwan was raised in Dorchester and a graduate of Dorchester Girls High School. She was a resident of Stoughton for more than 60 years and worked as a cashier for Christy's Markets in Stoughton and Brockton for more than 30 years. 

Funeral prayers will be offered in Stoughton Tuesday, May 13 at 10 a.m. at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. in Stoughton. Visiting hours were set for Monday, from 4-7 p.m.
