Stoughton Patch 2013 Holiday Guide

The following holiday events are happening in Stoughton

Wednesday, Dec. 18:
Winter Concert, South Elementary School, grades 4-5 at 9 a.m.

Holiday Necklace Craft with Sheralee from 3 to 5 p.m. at Stoughton Public Library. Learn to make a season's greeting card and learn how to make holiday neckless for a loved one or yourself. The age limit is 11-18 and there is a limit of 12. Call 781-344-2711 to sign up.

Wednesday, Dec. 19: Holiday Concert at the Dawe School, 10 a.m.

Monday, Dec. 23: First day of winter break. School will start up against Thursday, Jan. 2.

Tuesday, Dec. 24: Christmas Eve church services:
Grace Church, 2 p.m. 3:30 p.m., 5 p.m.
Immaculate Conception Church (Christmas Vigil), 11 a.m., confessions in English/Portugese, 4 p.m. English upstairs, Portugese downstairs, 6 p.m. English upstairs, 8 p.m. Portuguese, midnight, English.
St. James Church (Christmas Vigil), Mass with St. James Children's Choir, 5 p.m., Midnight Mass, St. James Choir, concert begins at 11:15 p.m.
First Congregational Church of Stoughton, Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, 7 p.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 25: Christmas services
Immaculate Conception Church: English, 8 a.m., Portugese upstairs, 9:30 a.m., English downstairs, 9:30 a.m., English 11 a.m., English, 12:30 p.m., No Mass, 5:30 p.m., Brazilian, 6 p.m.
St. James Church: Mass with Song, 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 1: The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation is hoping a First Day hike at Blue Hills Reservation in Milton at noon.  People should meet in the Houghton's Pond Parking Lot at 840 Hillside St.. Free soup will be served at noon and hikes begin at 1 p.m.
