Ten Stoughton Residents Cross Finish Line of 2012 Boston Marathon

Greg Swartz, 50, paced the Stoughton runners at this year's Boston Marathon, finishing in 3:45.26.

Ten Stoughton residents, ranging in age from 28 to 60, made the 26.2 mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston on Monday, April 16, 2012 running in the .

The Stoughton field included seven males (William Coulter, Joe Rossi, Tim Stone, Barry Sussman, Greg Swartz, Stuart Weiner and Mike Wilson) and three females (Mara Hochberg, Jennifer Joyce and Leanne Pacheco).

Lisa Andrews also qualified but wasn’t able to run in the Marathon because of a stress fracture in her right foot.

Fifty-year-old Greg Swartz led the Stoughton bunch finishing in less than four hours, completing the course in 3 hours 45 minutes and 26 seconds (3:45:26). Swartz ran at an 8:36 per mile pace.

Almost 27,000 runners (26,656 according to the Boston Athletic Association website) took part in the annual Patriots’ Day tradition, dealing with record-breaking heat.
