Song About Former Stoughton Teacher's Son Wins Country Award

A song inspired by a former Stoughton teacher's comment and the heroism of his son won the Country Music Association's award for "Song of the Year" Wednesday.
Paul Monti, a former science teacher in Stoughton, told an NPR interviewer that he drives his son's Jared's truck. He even drove in the Stoughton Fourth of July Parade. That was turned in song, "I Drive Your Truck," sang by Lee Brice.
Army Sgt. First Class Jared Monti, a Medal of Honor winner, was killed in Afghanstian in 2006 while the Raynham native was trying to save the live of a fellow soldier.
"Unbelievable song, first time I heard it blew my mind, changed my life. This award is completely about the song and about the writers," said Brice in an USA Today article.
Connie Harrington, Jessi Alexander and Jimmy Yeary wrote the song based on the interview with Paul Monti.
