CROP Hunger Walk
October 16, 2011

Members of the First Congregational Church of Stoughton and Christ Congregational Church in Brockton will once again be partnering to put on the Fourth Annual South Shore CROP* Hunger Walk, Sunday, October 16, 2011.

We need you and your team (can be from a company, club, school, civic or religious group, etc.) to help our community with this important effort so we can ensure another successful walk!  Please plan on joining us the day of the walk and do everything you can to recruiting teams and walkers within your church and community.

* CROP stands for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty, and walks happen throughout the country under the auspices of Church World Service, the oldest and one of the largest faith-based relief and development organizations in the U.S.  By walking together, neighbors take a stand against hunger, raising awareness and funds for both national and international relief.  In this country, CROP Walks support emergency relief following disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, wild fires, and floods.  Internationally, funds are used to fight against not just hunger, but also poverty and disease, and also to help resettle refugees and sponsor children.  CROP Walks also support local efforts.   As in past years, 25% of monies raised in our CROP Hunger Walk will go to MainSpring House in Brockton.
