Gospel Shabbat and Dinner

SOUNDS
OF GOSPEL TO RING IN THE SABBATH AT AHAVATH TORAH CONGREGATION

For
many, gospel is linked to the Christian church. But it doesn't
necessarily have to be that way; Jews can enjoy gospel music, too,
even on their Sabbath. On Friday, June 27th
at 7:15 PM, Ahavath Torah Congregation (ATC) will hold a Gospel
Kabbalat Shabbat featuring The Boston Community Choir. (BCC) A
full Shabbat dinner will be served (by paid reservations only)
beginning at 6:00 PM. The Gospel Kabbalat Shabbat service is free
and open to all. Following the service, the congregation is invited
to share in an Oneg Shabbat (refreshments). Ahavath Torah
Congregation is located at 1179 Central Street in Stoughton.

The
Boston Community Choir is an all-volunteer, multicultural,
intergenerational, multi-denominational group of singers from Greater
Boston. The BCC will
lead the ATC community in a service featuring gospel influenced
Jewish melodies in a creative Kabbalat Shabbat to welcome the
Sabbath. This dynamic group has performed many times over the years
at ATC. This will be the first time that this choir will join with
Ahavath Torah Congregation to help to lead our community in worship.
