Torah Congregation, of which Bob was an active member.

Bob Lazarus was diagnosed with
leukemia in the summer of 2007. He lost his heroic battle with that
disease on January 4th
2009 on his 53rd
birthday.

Jimmy Tingle, who has produced several comedy
fundraisers, is working in conjunction with the Ahavath Torah
Congregation in Stoughton to produce yet another legendary night of
Boston comedy for two great causes.

Bob Lazarus performed extensively for close to three
decades at numerous venues – from the “Comedy Nest” in
Montreal, to “Catch A Rising Star” in Cambridge and “The Comic
Strip” and the “Improv” in NY. His career as a comedian
includes over 50 shows from 1994 through 2000, opening for fellow
Ding Ho alumni comedian Steven Wright throughout United States and

Canada, including the Orpheum in Boston.

Bob’s television credits included “The Brotherhood”
on Showtime, “Stand up and Deliver” on Comedy Central and
“Funniest Person in America” on Showtime. He had the opportunity
to work with some of the top names in comedy and music and opened for
George Benson, The Righteous Brothers, The Coasters, and The Del
Fuegos, to name a few.

“Laz” never lost his sense of humor and was known
for his large heart and concern for all. He actually developed a lot
of new material about his illness and experiences. He performed
brilliantly right up to the end including the night Steve Wright was
inducted into the Boston Comedy Hall of fame in December 2008. Bob
explained with great joy and enthusiasm about being able to perform
even when not feeling that great, he said that “[his] doctors gave
him the OK, ‘cause they knew that it was good for my soul… definitely,” he added emphatically.

His friends from the world of Boston comedy and
Ahavath Torah Congregation will honor Bob’s memory and show their
love and support for his family by keeping the laughs flowing.
Please join us at this very special show. Ticket prices are as
follows: General admission
