Norton Parents Get Special Delivery on 12/12/12

When Erin Fisher went into labor Dec. 12, she expected it to go well into the next day. Newborn Wesley Scott Fisher was determined to make his birthday an extra special day, however, arriving at exactly 12:12 p.m. Dec. 12, 2012.

“We are both doing very well and are going home today,” Erin said. She has lived in Norton for the past five years with her husband Scott.

Wesley, named after Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker, was born at 6 lbs., 8 oz. at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.

Stoughton Couple Gets Married at 12:12 p.m. on 12/12/12

Joseph Fisher and Nicholas Blanco shouldn't have any trouble remembering their wedding anniversary - the Fisher-Blanco couple were married during a ceremony at Stoughton's Town Hall Wednesday afternoon, December 12, 2012 - 12/12/12.

The Fisher-Blanco wedding started just after 12 p.m. so the couple was officially married by 12:12 p.m. on 12/12/12.

It was one of three weddings that day at Stoughton's Town Hall.

Local Hit-and-Runs

The vehicle involved in a Dec. 8 hit and run on Park St. in Stoughton, which sent a teenage boy to the hospital, has been turned over to the Stoughton Police for processing.

A 15-year-old male pedestrian was allegedly struck by a car traveling South on Park St./Route 27 near the Chateau Dec. 8 at 7:45 p.m.

After making contact with the victim, the car kept traveling towards Brockton.

Meanwhile in Canton, police charged a 20-year-old Dedham driver for leaving the scene of an accident at the intersection of Washington St. and Historical Way. .

Bob Lamoureux, Seekonk's public works superintendent, said when he greeted Board of Selectmen Chair Francis Cavaco in a Town Hall hallway the morning of Dec. 11, Cavaco responded with some unfriendly choice words which featured an expletive.

But Cavaco said he was having an asthma attack at the time and Lamoureux misunderstood him.

There were no eyewitnesses to the exchange between the two men, who have had a contentious relationship. The incident was investigated by the Seekonk Police.

Easton Firefighters to be Honored for Bravery

Captain James Walsh and Firefighter Richard Salve of the Easton Fire Department will attend the annual Massachusetts Firefighter of the Year Awards at Mechanics Hall in Worcester next Tuesday where the two will be awarded for saving the life of Elise Circle resident Jeffrey Willis, who was found unconscious in his smoke-filled apartment Dec. 2, 2011.

Sharon High Head Football Coach Named Patriots' Coach of the Year

Sharon High School’s Dave Morse has been named the New England Patriots High School Football Coach of the Year in recognition of his team’s EMass Division 3 Super Bowl victory over Wayland, 12-3, on Saturday, Dec. 1.

In just his second season at Sharon High School, Morse led the Eagles to the school’s first Davenport Division title, first Super Bowl appearance and first Super Bowl championship. Sharon High had won seven total games in seven seasons before hiring Morse, the youngest football coach in Massachusetts at the time.
