The National Weather Service, located in Taunton, has issued a Hazardous Weather outlook for Southern New England, including Stoughton, and a winter weather advisory in effect from 2 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The outlook, which is for Saturday through Thursday says:
"There is a high probability of accumulating snows Saturday across the entire region. The greatest risk for heavy snowfall is over Connecticut, Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts where three to seven inches are possible."
"...However, the storm system is still over the northern Rockies and a lot can change as the storm tracks across the country today and tonight before reaching Southern New England Saturday."
The Weather Service is calling for 3 to 7 inches in Stoughton on Saturday, mostly before 5 p.m. The snow will mark the second significant snowfall this week after Stoughton was hit with four inches Thursday into Friday.
Rain will fall on Monday and Tuesday, according to the Weather Service, which could create slippery conditions.
