How Much Snow Will Stoughton Get This Weekend?

Projected snowfall totals for this weekend's snowstorm have been significantly reduced.

How much snow will Stoughton get from this weekend's storm? Not as much as originally forecasted.

What was at first thought to be a more significant storm when the first snowfall projections were made earlier this week, will now be rather insignificant, at least according to the most recent forecasts.

WBZ is projecting most of southeastern Massachusetts, including Stoughton, to get between 1 to 3 inches of snow. WCVB Channel 5 also projects 1-3 inches. 7 News has the Stoughton area near the boarder of getting 2 to 4 inches of snow and just 1 to 2. FOX 25 projects a bit more snow, 2 to 4 inches, but has Stoughton near an area receiving 4 to 6 inches.

Still, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for this area from 3 p.m. Saturday until late Sunday night.

While the projected snow amounts have changed, the timing of the storm stays the same, 7 News meteorologist Pete Bouchard writes in his weather blog

The snow will start late Saturday afternoon/early evening and not wrap up until late Sunday evening. However, there will be rain mixed in for this area, especially on Saturday, before turning back to snow.
