Home Sales Up in Stoughton

A new report says home sales have increased nearly 78 percent in Stoughton from May 2011 to May 2012. Year-to-date sales are also up in town.

Stoughton saw 16 home sales in May 2012, a near 78 percent increase from May 2011 when there were 9 home sales in town, according to a new housing report.

However, there was a slight drop in the median home sale price in May (0.06 percent) from $234,600 in May 2011 to $234,450 in May 2012, The Warren Group said in a recent press release.

Stoughton has had 63 home sales, year to date, up from 53 in 2011, The Warren Group reported.

Overall, home sales in Massachusetts were up nearly 35 percent in May, the largest jump since June 2010, according to the firm.
