Heavy Rain, Strong Winds in Forecast for Stoughton Area Tuesday and Wednesday

A multi-hazard weather event is in store for Tuesday afternoon and night and into Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. Potential hazards include heavy rain, strong winds, high tides, and the possibly of isolated severe thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service has forecast heavy rain, strong winds and the potential of thunderstorms for the Stoughton area Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.

There is a wind advisory and hazardous weather outlook in place. The worst of the storm is projected to be Tuesday evening and into Wednesday.

  • Tuesday - A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 74. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Tuesday night - A chance of showers, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 10 p.m. Patchy fog before 2 a.m. Low around 61. Breezy, with a south wind 22 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
  • Wednesday - Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before noon, then a slight chance of showers between noon and 2 p.m. Patchy fog between 7am and 10am. High near 66. West wind 9 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

The weather settles down after that. Thursday and Friday will be mostly sunny. Temperatures will be in the mid 60s on Thursday and the low 70s on Friday.
