1. School Committee and Selectmen Meet

The School Committee and the Board of Selectmen are both scheduled to hold meetings Tuesday evening.

The School Committee will meet at 6 p.m. at the Stoughton High television studio before heading to (Great Hall, third floor) for the start of the Selectmen's meeting at 7 p.m.

After this joint session, both boards will continue with their regularly scheduled meetings, with the Selectmen remaining at Town Hall and the School Committee returning to Stoughton High.

2. Sports on Tap

The boys' varsity basketball team starts its season Tuesday, December 13 at Burlington. The game begins at 7 p.m.

The game will feature Stoughton High head coach John Gallivan , Connor, a senior captain on the Burlington team.

3. Senior Center Events

  • 9:00 a.m. - Foot Care for Seniors
  • 9:15 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. - Senior Fitness
  • 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. - Assistance to Caregiver Support Group
  • 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. - Strength & Tone
  • 12:45 p.m. - BINGO (Cash donations will be accepted for the food pantry)
  • 5 p.m. - Moovin and Groovin
  • LUNCH (11:15 a.m.) - Turkey Stew

4. Stoughton Businesses Collecting Food for Pantries

During this Holiday Season, the staff and customers at in Stoughton have been collecting food donations for St. Anthony’s Free Market. 

The public is welcome to contribute non-perishable items. 

One collection box has already been filled at Copy Inks’ 530 Washington Street store. 

Local community activist will be stopping by on Thursday, December 15 to pick up the groceries.

Also, drop off any canned goods or non-perishable items at Malcolm & Parsons Insurance (770 Washington St. in the downtown) and they will match it during the months of December, January & February. It will go directly to the Stoughton food banks to help those in need.

5. Looking Ahead: Meet Santa Claus on the Set of Community Forum

Santa Claus will be making his annual visit to the Community Forum Show on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 3:15 p.m.

Santa will be traveling to the , 421 Page St., Suite 2, in Stoughton, by Fire Engine provided by our friends at the Stoughton Fire Dept.

All kids are invited to greet Santa when he arrives and then come into the studio and bring your wish list to him.

Community Forum will record your visit for playback on Dec. 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27 on Comcast 9 and Verizon 28.
