1. Interim Town Manager Collation & Swearing-in of new Board of Selectmen members

Join the Board of Selectmen on Tuesday, April 17 from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. in the Great Hall of (third floor) for a swearing in ceremony for the Board of Selectmen members () as well as a Collation for the new Interim Town Manager, .

2. Board of Selectmen Meeting

Following the collation and swearing-in, the Stoughton Board of Selectmen meet in the Great Hall of the Town Hall.

3. Stoughton Reads Together

“The Killer Angels,” a Civil War Era Novel centering on the Battle of Gettysburg, is the 2012 .

A book discussion group meeting at the , led by Cynthia Walsh, takes place Tuesday, April 17 at 1 p.m in the Wales French Room. Civil War era snacks will be served. 

On Wednesday, April 18, go on a guided tour of the Forbes House Museum, a Milton mansion on the National Historic Register.  Meet at 215 Adams St., in Milton at 2:45 for 3 p.m. tour. Prepay $8/adult; $5/student or senior; under 12 free.

Registration is required (you can register at the library).

4. Tax Deadline

State and federal tax returns must be filed by Tuesday, April 17 for Massachusetts residents.

Normally taxes are due on April 15, but that was a Sunday and April 16 was a holiday in Massachusetts (Patriots' Day).

5. Reminder: Thursday is Food Pantry Day in Stoughton

Stoughton resident Peg Carbone continues her effort to curb hunger in Stoughton, personally picking up donations for the food pantries every Thursday.

Here's a note from Peg: "I pick up non perishable food and also household items every Thursday, anywhere in Stoughton and deliver them to the food pantry. Please tell your friends and neighbors. One item, one bag or several, and I will pick them up every Thursday."
