Five Things You Need to Know in the Week Ahead

1. SHS Music Department Presents 2011 Holiday Concert

The Stoughton High School Music Department will present their 2011 on Friday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will feature the SHS Concert Choir and SHS Jazz Choir under the direction of Griffin Coombs. The SHS Concert Band and SHS Tuesday Jazz Ensemble will be directed by Daniel Davey.

The concert will be held in the high school auditorium. Tickets will be available at the door only. Adults $5; seniors and children $3, with a family maximum of $10.

2. Party All Night Long (PANL) Fundraiser at the Chateau

Stoughton’s (PANL) organization is having a fundraiser at the Chateau (formerly Nocera’s) on Park St. in Stoughton on Thursday, Dec. 15.

Come enjoy lunch or dinner (from 11:15 a.m. until close) on 12/15 and the will donate 20 percent of your bill to Party All Night Long.

Print the ticket posted in the media gallery, and present it to your waiter or waitress when you pay the check.

Only one ticket per group is needed. It’s good for both dine-in and take out orders (781-341-2503).

Party All Night Long is the annual all-night graduation party for the Stoughton High graduating class. It takes place following graduation. The party is alcohol-free and provides a fun, yet safe venue for the graduates to celebrate.

3. Meet Santa Claus on the Set of Community Forum

Santa Claus will be making his annual visit to the Community Forum Show on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 3:15 p.m.

Santa will be traveling to the , 421 Page St., Suite 2, in Stoughton, by Fire Engine provided by our friends at the Stoughton Fire Dept.

All kids are invited to greet Santa when he arrives and then come into the studio and bring your wish list to him.

Community Forum will record your visit for playback on Dec. 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27 on Comcast 9 and Verizon 28.

4. Holiday Sing-A-Long with the Stoughton Senior Serenaders

Join the Stoughton Senior Serenaders for an early afternoon sing-a-long on Thursday, Dec. 15 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the (110 Rockland St.)

Enjoy Holiday music and wintertime songs. Light refreshments will be served.

Seniors, friends and families invited.

5. Registration and Tryouts for Stoughton Youth Baseball

Online registration is now open for the 2012 spring season at stoughtonyouthbaseball.org. Click here to register.

Also, SYB will be holding the second and final tryout for players that will be between 10 and 12 years old for the upcoming 2012 season. A players must attend at least one tryout to be eligible to be drafted onto a Major League American team and must be registered for the 2012 season.

The tryout will be held at Dirt Dawg’s complex on Industrial Drive in Canton on December 18, 2012.

Players who will be 10 will tryout at 9:30 a.m. and players that will be 11 or 12 will tryout at 10:30 a.m. Anyone who wants to manage or coach a Major American or Major National team should be in attendance to view the tryouts.

Additionally, SYB will be conducting player registrations for the upcoming season during the tryouts.
