1. AccuWeather Forecasts More Snow Days for Stoughton Students this School Year

It's not even winter yet - in fact fall doesn't begin until September 22 - but Accuweather.com reports that unlike last winter, students (and teachers) can expect more snow days this winter.

While Accuweather does not release its full winter forecast until October, Accuweather meteorologist Meghan Evans writes, "Following a snow drought during winter 2011-2012, the mid-Atlantic and southern New England will get a snow dump this winter."

2. Stoughton Youth Lacrosse League Signups

The new Stoughton Youth Lacrosse league will be having its first signups on Saturday, September 15 from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Stoughton Public Library (Wales French Room).

Stoughton Lacrosse is a brand new youth sports program that is being organized by Dean Russo, Toni Cann, Karrie Pizzano and Niecia Nunes.  The program, available for boys and girls in grades 1-8, will run this upcoming spring (in 2013). 

Registration fee is $175. There is also a required $25 membership fee to the US Lacrosse Association. But there may be some fundraising to help lower these costs.

Stoughton Youth Lacrosse is also looking for volunteers willing to help out in all areas.

3. Stoughton High Girls' Soccer Car Wash

The Stoughton High girls' soccer team is having a fundraising car wash this Saturday, September 15 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Walgreens parking lot in Stoughton. The cost to have your car washed is $5.

4. "Imagine – a John Lennon Tribute" to play at "The Last Shot Bar & Grill" in Stoughton

On Saturday, September 15, Dennis Stephen will perform his one-man show, "Imagine – a John Lennon Tribute" at in Stoughton.

Admission is free. The show starts at 8 p.m.

"Imagine – a John Lennon Tribute" is a unique, live musical performance, paying homage to the Beatles and John Lennon. In the show, Dennis Stephen performs vocal and guitar parts in the character, style, look and sound of John Lennon.

5. Looking Ahead: Kiddie Academy Harvest Festival

On Saturday, September 22 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m., join Kiddie Academy in Stoughton (1202 Washington St.) for a Harvest Festival, which will include bike races, pumpkin decorating, face painting, pumpkin bowling, scarecrow making, potato sack racing, games, treats, prizes, and more!
