"Five Things you Need to Know Today" is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance.
1. "Murder at the Library" Fundraiser Sold Out
Great Hall at the Stoughton Town Hall will be packed Friday evening, Jan. 18 for the Support Our Library Association's (SOLA) theatrical fundraiser, "Murder at the Library."
The murder mystery, directed by realtor Fred Yaitanes, stars some of Stoughton's most recognizable characters: Selectman Cynthia Walsh; Police Chief Paul Shastany; Library Director Pat Basler; Hansen School Principal Faye Polillio; Stephanie Carrara of the Town Clerk's Office; Columnist Mark Snyder; Community Preservation Committee Chairman John Morton; and Redevelopment Committee Chairman Carlos Vargas.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Marguerite Rizzi will provide musical accompaniment on bass.
Walsh is "murdered" and the other characters are the suspects. The identity of the "murderer" is a complete mystery. Even the cast does not know who the "murderer" is, except for the "murderer" of course.
The show, called for 7 p.m., is sold out. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. No tickets will be sold at the door.
Parking around Town Hall will be hard to come by. Dori Frankel of SOLA asks that those attending park in the train station, on the streets near the Town Hall or in the post office lot, and save close spaces for the less able bodied.

The following is from the Stoughton Master Plan Committee:
The Stoughton Master Plan is asking for public input to develop a shared community vision and to help set goals that will take us confidently into the future.
The Town held a Visioning Forum on October 15th that brought together over 110 residents and business owners to share ideas about Stoughton’s future. The purpose of this survey is to allow more community members to share their ideas and opinions. Responses will be collected until January 20th and will be used to develop the Vision Report.
