1. "Try a Tri" at the Stoughton Y

This Saturday, Feb. 23, the Stoughton YMCA will be hosting a modified indoor triathlon that allows those who have never done a triathlon, as well as those who have competed before, to have fun and start the triathlon season early.

Participants ages 6 and up are welcome and are broken down into different heats.

Each age group has a different amount of swim, bike and run that they must complete (see chart below).

The cost for Y members is $10 and Non-Members is $15.

2. Reminder: Winter Parking Ban Still in Effect

The following is from the town website:

In accordance with the Traffic Rules and Orders of the Town of Stoughton no vehicles other than one acting in an emergency shall be parked on any street, sidewalk or any municipal off–street parking area for a period of time longer than one hour between the hours of 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. on any day from Dec. 1 to April 1.

The fine for violation of these parking regulations is $15 for each offense and/or towing of vehicle at owner’s expense.

Residents are also reminded that the Town of Stoughton will not be liable for any damage done to mailboxes, shrubs, lawns, fences, steps, sprinkler heads or trees which are within the street layout due to snow removal activities.

3. Sports on Tap

The Stoughton High Hockey team takes on Apponequet Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 4 p.m. at the Driscoll Arena in Fall River.
