1. Party All Night Long Fundraiser

Party All Night Long's first fundraiser this school year is being held on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012. The Chateau Restaurant (formerly Nocera's) will be donating 20-percent of the food and beverage proceeds from dine-in and take-out customers who present a coupon (coupon posted in the media gallery).

PANL is an annual all-night graduation party for the Stoughton High graduating class, which takes place following graduation. The party is alcohol-free and provides a fun, yet safe venue for the graduates to celebrate.

Speaking of PANL, save the date for its 3rd Annual March Madness Event to benefit the program, will take place Saturday, March 16 at 7 p.m.

Due to an overwhelming response PANL has moved the venue to a larger hall. It will be held at The Portuguese Club at 21 Railroad Street. The event will feature Jack Raekes' Band, The Standards. PANL will be selling $100 Raffle Tickets and hosting a silent auction.

2. Political Season Underway in Stoughton

As of Nov. 1, nomination papers to run for town-wide office or for Town Meeting representative have been available at the Town Clerk's Office on the first floor of the Town Hall.

Town-wide nomination papers need to be filed at the Town Clerk's office by no later than 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2013. The Town Meeting warrant for petitioned articles also closes on this day.

Nomination papers for Town Meeting candidates are due at the Town Clerk's office by no later than 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 19, 2013.

The annual town election will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2013, with a preliminary election (if needed) held Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013.

And, the annual Town Meeting begins Monday, May 6, 2013, with an Organizational Town Meeting taking place May 2, 2013.

3. Early Release Day for Stoughton Public Schools

Thursday, Dec. 6 is an early release day for the Stoughton Public Schools. The school hours for early release days are:

  • SHS & OMS: 7:35 a.m. – 11:32 a.m.
  • Elementary: 8:30 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.

4. Copy Inks in Stoughton Hosting "Men's Night" to Help Guys with Holiday Shopping

Let the ladies at Copy Inks help you get your holiday shopping done.

Copy Inks will be holding a Men’s Night, on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in its shop located at 530 Washington Street, Stoughton, to help you avoid that last-minute shopping spree.

5. Hansen School PTO 5th Grade Fundraiser

The Hansen School PTO is holding a fundraiser for the elementary school's 5th grade class Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Orange Leaf at Cobbs Corner in Canton.

10% of all purchases will be donated to the Hansen School PTO.

BONUS: Thursday is Food Pantry Day in Stoughton

Stoughton resident Peg Carbone continues her effort to curb hunger in Stoughton, personally picking up donations for the food pantries every Thursday.

Here's a note from Peg: "I pick up non perishable food and also household items every Thursday, anywhere in Stoughton and deliver them to the food pantry. Please tell your friends and neighbors. One item, one bag or several, and I will pick them up every Thursday."
