1. Christmas and New Year's Trash Schedule

The following is from the Stoughton DPW:

On Tuesday, Dec. 25, and Tuesday, Jan. 1, there will be no curbside trash pickup in observance of Christmas and New Year's Day.

Trash collection for those days will be scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 26 and Wednesday, Jan. 2 in addition to the regular Wednesday collections.

All rubbish and recyclables must be curbside by 7 a.m. on your collection day.

Christmas Trees (with bags and stands removed) may be left curbside on your regular RECYCLING collection day and will be picked up by a separate truck during January only. This is the only method of disposal. Christmas trees will not be accepted at the Transfer Station.

2. Christmas Eve Schedule

Stoughton Town Hall is open Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24 until noon.

The Stoughton Senior Center is open, but no lunch will be served. Meals on Wheels delivery will be available. The Walking Club and Tai Chi both start at 9 a.m.

The Stoughton Public Library is closed on Christmas Eve.

All three buildings will be closed for Christmas, Tuesday, Dec. 25.

3. Free Coffee on Christmas and New Year's

Free coffee will be served at all 18 MassDOT service plazas courtesy of McDonalds, Burger King, and Gulf between 10 p.m. on Christmas night, Tuesday, Dec. 25, until 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26, and between 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, Monday, Dec. 31, until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013.
