1. Stoughton Police Say There Has Been a "Grinch Sighting" in Town

The folllowing is a message from the Stoughton Police:

Apparently a Grinch of sorts has been covering the town stealing "tips" that residents may be leaving for the town trash collectors or mail carriers. If you wish to make these servants' Christmas Merry, we suggest dropping off your gift at the DPW office.

2. Early Release Day

There will be an additional early release day for students in all grades of the Stoughton Public Schools. An early release day has been added for Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 - the last day of school before winter vacation.

As with other early release days, middle and high school students will be released at 11:32 a.m. and elementary students at 12:20 p.m.

3. Master Plan Survey

The following is from the Stoughton Master Plan Committee:

The Stoughton Master Plan is asking for public input to develop a shared community vision and to help set goals that will take us confidently into the future.

The Town held a Visioning Forum on October 15th that brought together over 110 residents and business owners to share ideas about Stoughton’s future. The purpose of this survey is to allow more community members to share their ideas and opinions. Responses will be collected until January 20th and will be used to develop the Vision Report. Your voice is important to our future. Please take the opportunity to be heard.

4. Sports on Tap

The Stoughton High hockey team takes on Apponequet at 6 p.m. Friday at the Asiaf Arena in Brockton.

Meanwhile, the Stoughton High boys' basketball team has its home-opener vs. Milford at 6:30 p.m., while the SHS girls' basketball team travels to Milford for a 6:30 p.m. game.

The SHS indoor track teams face Milford in a meet on Saturday at Boston University.
