If you start to see a bunch of plastic flamingos popping up around town, there is a good reason why.

The is holding a "Flamingo Flocking Fundraiser."

From the SHS Flamingo Flocking website:

"You can flock a friend for a donation as low as $15.  Upon receipt of your order form and donation, a volunteer will secretly place a flock of SHS flamingos in the requested friend’s front yard from Monday - Friday (flamingos rest on weekends).  Birds and signs will be delivered in the early morning and will remain in the yard for no more than 48 hours.  A notice will be attached explaining the removal policy, how to order the flamingos to be “forwarded,” and how to buy flamingo “insurance”. Sorry, our birds may not migrate outside of the SHS district boundaries, or be placed onto public property or at apartment complexes!"

"Flocking is done in good spirits and is not meant to be malicious," the website states. If your yard is flocked, there is no cost for removing the flamingos, although a donation is appreciated. If you don't want to be flocked there is "flamingo insurance" that can be "purchased" (a.k.a. making a donation to the Class of 2013).

Questions? Call the SHS Flamingo Hotline at 781-436-0825.
