ANTON'S CLEANERS "COATS FOR KIDS" COLLECTION DRIVE LAUNCHES OCT. 14, 2013

Starting October 14, 2013, Anton’s Cleaners is kicking off its 19th annual Coats for Kids winter coat drive and will run through January 11, 2014. Anton’s Cleaners Coats for Kids collection has one simple goal - to help individuals who otherwise wouldn’t be able to keep themselves and their families warm. Coats for Kids is New England’s largest coat drive, with school groups making up one half of all collections - over 800,000 coats since the program began.

According to Arthur C. Anton Jr., COO of Anton’s Cleaners, “Coats for Kids offers an incredible opportunity for local businesses and community organizations to get involved in an activity that benefits those in need. Anton’s Cleaners is always on the lookout for ways to collaborate with local businesses and organizations to make winter a little warmer for children, teens and adults throughout Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.”

As Collection Partners, participating companies and organizations collect good quality, warm winter coats and then bring them to any of Anton’s Cleaners’ 42 locations, including the Stoughton store located at 490 Washington Street, or one of the five Jordan’s Furniture stores. Participating companies receive posters and other marketing material to promote the drive within their companies and groups. Participating schools receive the opportunity to earn rewards for their school while helping babies, kids and adults in their own community through this program.

Once collected and cleaned, coats are distributed free of charge through the Coats for Kids Distribution Partners network, which includes organizations such as BU Medical Center Outreach Van Project, Catholic Charities, Community Giving Tree, Massachusetts Community Action Programs (MASSCAP), Mental Health Association of Greater Lowell, Middlesex Human Service Agency, Salvation Army, Taunton State Hospital, Wish Project and many more. Last year’s drive collected 52,000 coats, with Anton’s donating over $1M in cleaning services since the program's inception.  Promotional partners for the 2013-2014 Coats for Kids collection include Jordan’s Furniture, KISS 108, Wicked Local, Fox 25 and Jam’n 94.5.

According to Eliot Tatelman, President and CEO of Jordan’s Furniture, “Jordan’s has always believed in giving back to the community and there are many different charitable initiatives that we coordinate.  Our sustained attention toward Coats For Kids is due to one reason… results. It has been a pleasure to partner with Anton’s Cleaners on this fantastic program; knowing the programs assist youth and families right in our back yard makes it all worthwhile.”
