Zachary's Could Be Moving to a New Location in Stoughton

The restaurant, serving breakfast and lunch, may be relocating from its current location on Route 138 to a spot further down the road, within the Planet Fitness Plaza in Stoughton.

One of may be on the move, but won't be going far, and will still remain in Stoughton.

At the May 1, 2012 Stoughton Board of Selectmen's meeting, members of the Board discussed receiving a letter from the ownership at about looking into transferring its common victualler license. 

Currently located at 945 Washington St., at the corner of Brock St., the letter indicated Zachary's may be looking to move about 1.5 miles down Route 138 to 1778 Washington St., to a space within the .

Zachary's owner Joe McGovern said the potential move was a "definite maybe." 

McGovern, who has owned Zachary's for 10 years, said the restaurant has been at its current location for more than 20 years.

But, he is eyeing a move to increase the size of his restaurant. Currently there is seating for 46, but the new location would have around 100 seats, he said.

McGovern said he may gain some patrons from the Easton side of 138 and said there was a lot of foot traffic in that area. 

He said he is still trying to workout all the details; waiting on drawings and a date to appear before the Board of Selectmen. 

McGovern said he is targeting September 2012 for the possible move.
