Patch: How long have you been in business?

Wormald: We opened in February of 2012 so it has been just over one year now. We've been busy and feel very welcome in Stoughton. Our customers come regularly and enjoy our changing specials.

Patch: How did you get in to the restaurant business?

Wormald: Prior [to opening Corner Cafe] I worked in construction for over 30 years, but I got sick with an illness that settled in my heart and wasn't able to do any heavy lifting or anything stressful.

I always wanted to open a restaurant. My friend owns the building which has been a food establishment since 1927. So I decided to open the Corner Cafe here.

Patch: Are there any favorite dishes that you serve?

Wormald: I make a mean corned beef and I have an Ed's Stuffy which is fresh clam stuffed with chorizo, onions, peppers and homemade bread crumbs.

We do breakfast and lunch specials every day. Today [the day of the interview] we had Turkey Au Gratin homemade soup, Clam Chowda, Ed's Cuban Sandwich and our ever popular Corner Burger which has two all beef patties with American cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion with a special family recipe sauce.

If you're really hungry you can get the Triple Corner Burger and add bacon.
