Little Caesars Pizza Closes its Doors

The pizza chain closed its Stoughton location on Halloween. Little Caesars had just celebrated its first anniversary in town in September.

The first drive-through pizza place in the South Shore has closed it doors.

, a franchise located at the corner of Central and Washington Streets, in the former location of a dry cleaner, closed for good on Monday.

The location had just celebrated its in Stoughton on Sept. 14 of this year.

Franchise owner Patrick O'Connell had invested heavily in the former business, telling Patch on Tuesday afternoon, that there were high occupancy costs, a large rent, and big up-front expenses for all the permitting necessary for the drive-thru window.

He says it was ironic that they closed on Halloween.

"We had our largest week ever this past week. But, there was simply not enough business to sustain the heavy expenses there," O'Connell said.

Although there is a Little Caesars location in Brockton, this one was the only one O'Connell owned outside of Virginia.

"This was our experiment to try the concept here in Massachusetts. It didn't work," he added.

O'Connell said that he will be moving all the equipment from Stoughton location to his twenty stores in Virginia.

Ten Little Caesars, operated by other owners, remain in Massachusetts.

This location's closing will put more workers on the unemployment roles. Recently, a in Stoughton also closed.

Too bad, the pizza was good and cheap, great for kids birthday parties at $6 a pie. Now it is $10 or more at every other pizza place in town for a large plain cheese pizza.

You know stellios is down the street for $6 a pie as well!

Cheap pizza is plentiful in Stoughton. Good pizza is not. Little Caesars was only the former.

I'll second the Last Shot... never had a bad meal there, and very affordable.

I'm too afraid to go into the last shot. It looks like a haunted house and I've heard the Crowd there is questionable.
