Fire Chief David Jardin Honored at Stoughton Chamber of Commerce Meeting

Stoughton Fire Chief David M. Jardin is retiring in April after 38 years with the SFD.

The Stoughton Chamber of Commerce presented Stoughton Fire Chief David M. Jardin with a Special Recognition Award at the Chamber's March meeting, held this past Tuesday at the .

Jardin is after serving on the Stoughton Fire Department for 38 years, including the last seven as chief. Since 2004 he has also been a Stoughton Chamber of Commerce board member.

The chief was joined at the meeting by his wife Maureen, a teacher at the .

Chamber Chairman Chris Petrie of gave Jardin his award, and thanked him for his service both as fire chief and as a chamber board member.

"He won't ever be replaced," Petrie said.

Jardin, who thanked the Chamber and the business community, said even in retirement he won't be going far. "I'm not going anywhere," he said.
