Apex Autobody Sets up Shop at New Stoughton Location

Apex recently moved from its Washington St. location to a new shop on Park St. on Route 27 in Stoughton.

"You can crash at my place," is written on the welcome mat for Apex Autobody in Stoughton when you walk into the front door of its office.

But after Apex's recent move, customers will be "crashing" at a new location. Apex had been located on Washington St. (across from Zachary's) since it opened in 2005. But on July 11 the business moved to , taking up shop at the former RSA Party Rental center.

The RSA building received a facelift in its transformation from party supply center to auto body shop.

Owner Sean McKiernan looks for the business to grow at the new location, while still providing the same quality service.

Apex specializes in "collision repairs, frame, bodywork, and re-finishing for all makes and models of foreign and domestic vehicles."

The focus of the business is accident repair work. McKiernan said he would rather excel in a specific area than be a "jack of all trades and a master of none."

Still, Apex offers a wide variety of services like complete collision repair and restoration; a 24-hour towing service; rental car arrangements; automotive painting; detailing; vehicle frame straightening; installation of body kits and spoilers; pin striping; and more.

So far the approach has worked. For a business that prides itself on its customer service, McKiernan said 80-percent of his business is either repeat customers or customer referrals.

McKiernan says Route 27 sees about the same amount of traffic as Route 138, but the new location is easy to access from Route 24, which is a plus. McKiernan also owns the new building on Route 27, as opposed to having to pay rent at the former Route 138 location.

McKiernan, from Abington, wanted to keep his business located in Stoughton. He looked at the former RSA Party Rental building last September, so the moving process was almost a year in the making. Over the last few months he and his staff put in long hours still operating at the old location, while at the same time prepping the new shop.

He said he wanted to "thank all that made [the move] possible" and "all the customers for their continued business."
