Where Do Drivers Speed Most in Stoughton?

We want to hear from you and see if there's a consensus among readers.

We all know there are spots in Stoughton where people tend to speed throughout town. The speed limit may be 30, but cars routinely drive 40+ miles per hour, for example.

While the town certainly has its main roads and routes (Route 27, 138 and 139...not to mention Stoughton is right off Route 24), there are plenty of backroads where some people may forget they're not on the highway.

Now, we want to hear from you!

Highland St! Cars fly on this street and it is super dangerous! We also have no sidewalks or crosswalks so you take your life in your hands walking or crossing to get your mail, as people use it as a cut through. My son was almost hit my a speeder while trying to cross for the bus last year. Ive called the police but I never see them monitoring speed down here!

York St. is like the expressway. Noone drives the 30 mph speed limit. The average is between 40 and 50 but we are lucky enough to have a number of cars and motorcycles see how fast their cars can go. Yesterday a motorcyclist was going approximately 60-70. I've called the police since it would be a great source of revenue for the town but I've only seen them once is 6 months here.

Turnpike Street is crazy! And there are no sidewalks. I was so dissappointed that sidewalks weren't considered during the recent repaving of the street. People just drive faster now and it is completely unsafe to walk or to bike on it.

Morton St from from Plain to Rt 138 during the morning and evening rush hours. Speed limit is 25 mph and you see people driving 50 or more. The police could set up a trap on Bird St and make tons of $ for the town and make the street safer.
