Young Child Struck by Car in Stoughton

A 7-year-old boy was struck by a car on Canton St. in Stoughton Wednesday evening, sustaining serious, but non life threatening injuries.


The driver of the vehicle was charged with the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

ABOUT TOWN: IKEA's Manager Bids Farewell to Stoughton

IKEA, Stoughton's largest retail store, opened in November of 2005. At the helm since Day 1 was Frank Briel, who recently departed to become manager of the IKEA in College Park, MD.

During his time in Stoughton, Briel helped make the Stoughton IKEA one of the top IKEA locations in the U.S., with the store ranking third in the country.

ABOUT TOWN: New Shell Station Opens in Stoughton Center

While the two Shell service stations in Cobbs Corner and on Central Street by Route 24 remain closed, awaiting the results of litigation (see previous About Town story), a new Shell station has opened in Stoughton Center next to the VFW Hall, at the location previously held by a long-closed up Getty station.
