Monday Trash Collection Moved to Tuesday This Week

Monday's trash collection in Stoughton has been delayed due to the Patriots Day holiday. 

As a result, trash collection for Monday is scheduled for Tuesday, April 22 in addition to regular Tuesday trash collection, according to John M. Batchelder, Superintendent of Public Works.

For proper trash collection, Stoughton residents should place all recyclables and trash on the curbside by 7 a.m. on their scheduled collection days. 

Recyclables are separated as follows:

  • Glass, plastic, aluminum cans and aluminum foil
  • Curbside newsprint, including newspapers, cardboard boxes, brown paper bags, magazines, phone books, inserts. 

Stoughton crews are also now able to collect tubeless televisions and computer monitors with curbside trash. 

Older TVs and computer monitors with tubes, however, will not be collected with trash; such items must be brought to the Stoughton Trasnfer Station, which is upon on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
