Evenflo Recalls Harness Buckle for Car Seats, Booster Seats

Consumers can order a free replacement kit.

Evenflo has issued a recall on some of its 2011-2014 convertible car seats and harnessed booster seats.

The models involved in the recall use a harness crotch buckle which can become unlatched after being exposed to various items like food and drink present in everyday use of these seats by toddlers, according to a statement on the Evenflo website. These conditions may make it difficult to remove a child from the vehicle. There is no risk if the buckle is functioning normally, the company says.

Seven models are part of this recall including: the Momentum 65, Momentum 65 LX and Momentum 65 DLX, the Chase, Chase LX and Chase Select, the Chase LX and Chase DLX, the Maestro and Maestro Performance, the Symphony 65, Symphony 65 E3, Symphony LX, Symphony DLX and Snugli All-in-One, the Titan 65 and SureRide DLX and the Secure Kid LX, Secure Kid DLX, Secure Kid 100, Secure Kid 300, Secure Kid 400 and Snugli Booster.

If you have one of these seats and are not having difficulty unlatching the buckle, Evenflo says you can continue to use them to transport your child safely.
