School on Wheels of Massachusetts honored as Champion in Action for students impacted by homelessness
The non-profit organization School on Wheels of Massachusetts (SOWMA), was recognized recently by Citizens Bank and New England Cable News (NECN) as their 2014 Champion in Action® for Youth Programming for helping students break the cycle of homelessness with academic support and mentoring. SOWMA was chosen from a field of 150 applicants.
The honor provides SOWMA with a $35,000 unrestricted grant, volunteer support from Citizens Bank and NECN, public relations and promotional support, and other benefits.
