Veterans Day Trash Collection Schedule

There will be no curbside trash collection and recycling in observance of Veterans Day. Trash collection for Veterans Day will be scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 12, in addition to the regular Tuesday collection. This is standard procedure for any holiday. For five Saturdays only, beginning Saturday, Nov. 2, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. only. Stoughton residents may bring leaves and chipable brush only to Gay Street storage yard (behind Meads Meadow). Recyclables must be separated as follows: 1. Commingled containers (glass, plastic, aluminum cans, and aluminum foil) and 2. curbside newsprint (newspapers, cardboard boxes, brown paper bags, magazines, phone books and inserts). The transfer station is open every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  All rubbish and recyclables must be curbside by 7 a.m. in your collection day. Please place recyclables apart from regular rubbish (stickers facing the street.)

Stoughton Police Chief to be Roasted

Stoughton Police Chief Paul Shastany will be roasted Friday, Nov. 8, from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Portuguese Nation Club. A portion of the proceeds will go to the chief's selected charity, "Cops for Kids with Cancer." 
Tickets are $25 and available at Windsor Tire , Copy Inks and at www.stoughtonMA.com. The roster lineup includes attorney Fran Crimmins, the former town manager, Bob Devine, the Deputy Police Chief, John Batchelder, the Stoughton DPW Superintendent, selectman Steve Anastos, former selectman John Anderson and Ken Shastany, the chief's brother. Mark Snyder will be the host.  

Last Day for High School Survey

The Stoughton High School class of 2012 has until Friday to fill out the post school survey. On-Line - Go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/YYQNY3S and take the survey on-line or by phone, call the special education office at 781-344-7003 ext. 7321.

Stoughton Flu Clinic Schedule
The Stoughton Public Health and VNA are presenting flu clinics in October and November at the Stoughton Public Health office, Stoughton town hall, second floor.
The flu clinic will be given on the following dates:
Thursday, Nov. 7: 9 to 10 a.m., 4 to 6 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 14: 9 to 10 a.m., 4 to 6 p.m.
They ask you to bring you insurance card with you. They will bill your insurance and there will be no co-pay. If you don't have insurance, a donation will be appreciated.

What to Wear Today

You should bring your umbrella today we are going to have a wet soaking showers this morning and it will be windy, according to WHDH. There will be some sun late in the day and the wind will die down. It supposed to be a high of 72 with a low of 52.
