Stoughton Firefighters Reach Out to Service Members

-The Hanny Landman Committee is putting a Christmas package of toiletries, candy, DVDs and other items to be sent to any Stoughton resident currently serving in the military away from home. This is sent to the service person on behalf of all residents thanking them for their service and sacrifice. Stoughton fightfighers Jim Rush and Jim Brackett are the co-chairman of the Harry Landman Committee. All names of those serving away from home need to be typewritten and delivered to the fire station at 30 Freeman St., no later than Dec. 4.

Trinity Harvest Fair Friday, Saturday
-Trinity Harvest Fair will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 414 Sumner St., Friday, Nov. 22 from 11 a.m to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Artisans vendors will be featured, a silent auction with more than 30 items and a 43-inch Plasma TV will be raffled off. There will also be a Country Store and a snack bar.

Stoughton Football Team to Play in Semifinals
-The Stoughton High football team will be playing Plymouth South in the Division 3 state semifinals, Friday, Nov. 22, at Brockton High. In the other semifinal game, Melrose will be facing Tewksbury, Saturday, at 11 a.m. at Cawley Stadium in Lowell. The winners will be playing Dec. 7 at Gillette Stadium.

New Building for Massasoit Community College

-Governor Deval Patrick Wednesday announced a $27.4 million investment for a new Allied Health and Science Building at Massasoit Community College, while speaking to the Metro South Chamber of Commerce at Massasoit Community College. The new Allied Health and Science Building at Massasoit Community College will be the College’s first new building on the Brockton campus since the mid-1970’s. The new Health Sciences building will allow the College to expand and introduce more students to the latest technology in laboratory, diagnostic, and medical simulation in the Allied Health Programs. The new facility will also increase student capacity to meet the projected needs of the workforce.
