The Stoughton School Committee will be holding a meeting Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the high school television schedule at 7 p.m. On the agenda are the Stoughton Teachers Association, who are in contract talks with the school, a presentation on the MCAS performance, the Gibbons School's response to their test scores and a joint meeting with the selectmen.
Portuguese Labor Posters, an international labor poster exhibit from the collection of Stephen Lewis is being displayed at the Stoughton Public Library, 84 Park St. through Oct. 31. The library is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no admission charge. The project is supported in part by a grant from the Somerville Arts Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency and by IBT Local 25.
Kid Care Dental at 1613 Central St. will be holding the Great Halloween Candy Buy Back from Friday, Nov. 1 through Thursday, Nov. 7, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. They will be collecting and will play each child $1 for each pound of candy collected with a five pound per child maximum. They are doing this because they know the damaging effect of too much candy on children's teeth. Children are asked to pick out their favorite candy and donated the rest, which will be shipped to the troops overseas.
