Monday Essentials: South Coast Rail to Host Open House Tuesday

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will be hosting an open house on the South Coast Rail, which is slated to go through Stoughton, Tuesday, Oct. 8, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Taunton High and Thursday, Oct. 17 at the Advanced Technology & Manufacturing Center (ATMC) UMASS Dartmouth 151 Martine St., Fall River from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Take a Tour of the High School

The Stoughton School Department will be offering tours of the high schools Tuesday, Oct. 8 and Thursday, Oct. 10, from 6-7 p.m. They are trying to build a new high school and want to let people know the conditions of the present schools.

Stoughton Fire Department's Open House

The Stoughton Fire Department will be holding an open house Saturday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1550 Central St. at Fire Station. There will be free pizza from Papa Gino's and demonstrations of kitchen fire safety and fire prevention.

Mark Down Taste of Stoughton & Business Expo

Peg Carbone and The Stoughton Chamber of Commerce are inviting you to The Taste of Stoughton & Business Expo and to help them "Stuff a Truck" for Stoughton Food Pantries, Saturday, Oct. 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Stoughton High cafeteria. The truck is owned by Terry Schneider, the executive director of The Stoughton Chamber of Commerce, that is bringing back the Taste of Stoughton & Business Expo. Firefighters to Complete Training
New Stoughton firefighters will be among those receiving certificates of completion as members of the Career Recruit Firefighter Training Class  No. 202. The ceremony will take place at the Department of Fire Services, 1 State Rd. in Stow, Friday, Oct. 11,  at 1:30 p.m.
